Named in honor of St. Joseph’s Academy’s first graduate, Josephine Bahlinger, class of 1877, this $4,000 award toward freshman-year tuition will be given to five incoming 9th grade students based on the following criteria:
- Outstanding academic performance in elementary school
- A history of standardized test scores in the 90th percentile
- Service to school and/or community
- Exemplary conduct record
- Active participation in co-curricular activities
- Award essay
- Personal interview
How to Apply
The application process opens at 6 p.m. on the third Thursday of October (the date of SJA’s Open House). The award application (including essay) is due with the student’s application for admission to St. Joseph’s Academy.
Interviews will be conducted during our applicant/family interviews in January.
Five award winners will be selected from the pool of finalists. They will receive a $4,000 tuition award as well as the $575 registration fee. Award winners will be notified in their SJA acceptance packet.
