SJA Wins 2019 Regional Science Fair

St. Joseph’s Academy was the top school at the Region VII Science and Engineering Fair on February 13. With 45 participants, SJA advanced 28 students to the Louisiana State Science and Engineering Fair on March 19 and 20.

Cheerleaders Finish Fourth at Nationals

National Merit Finalists Announced

The National Merit Scholarship Program has determined which of its semifinalists announced in September have satisfied the requirements to advance to finalist standing. All seven of SJA’s semifinalists have been named finalists. They are Abby Blaize, Anna Borne, Rachael Coates, Amelia Dittmar, Anna Claire LeJeune, Maryn Matthews and Grace Richardson.

SJA Inducts 2019 Hall of Fame Class

The SJA Athletic Hall of Fame inducted its three newest members on February 9. Coach Elizabeth “Liz” Fontenot (strength & conditioning, soccer, cross country, softball and track & field), the late Sister Ursula Harelson, CSJ ’45 (distinguished volunteer) and Dr. Julie Neumann ’03 (volleyball, swimming, softball and soccer) were honored.
