The St. Joseph’s Academy gymnastics team finished third in the LHSAA/Sugar Bowl Girls’ State Gymnastics Meet on April 28. The gymnasts tallied 215.350 points. Caddo Magnet (222.550) won its fifth consecutive state championship, while Baton Rouge High (220.150) captured state runner-up honors. The meet was held at Baton Rouge High.
“It was a group effort,” said faculty moderator Brenda LeBlanc. “We had several girls with personal best scores. The team definitely peaked at the right time. It was a pleasure to work with such a hardworking group of girls. The improvement from the start of the season to the end was absolutely incredible.”
Eliza Hufft finished second in level 4 in floor exercise, and Zoe Crawford finished 5th in level 4 on uneven bars. The level 4 group finished 3rd as a team in their level competition.
