Swim Team Finishes Second in Mobile

The St. Joseph’s Academy swim team finished second in the 8th Annual Gulf Coast Classic, held September 14 and 15 in Mobile, Alabama. The prestigious meet featured 18 of the top teams from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. The swimmers scored 323 points.

“I’m really happy with how the meet went,” coach Rebecca Gilbert said. “It was a long weekend of swimming against some very tough competition. I think we accomplished what we came here to do: bond as a team, have fun and swim some fast races.”

Scoring points towards the team’s total were the following: 

200-Yard Medley Relay: Kirby Black, Isabel Webre, Amanda Andrews and Claire Bass, 4th place

200-Yard Freestyle: CeCe Werth, 6th place; Kirby Black, 7th place; Julia Brinson, 10th place; Victoria Godso, 16th place 

200-Yard Individual Medley: Anna Webre, 7th place; Isabel Webre, 8th place; Gabrielle Joffrion, 10th place; Camden Hull, 13th place

50-Yard Freestyle: Claire Bass, 5th place

100-Yard Butterfly: Amanda Andrews, 9th place; Isabel Webre, 13th place; Anna Webre, 14th place; Cameron Accardo, 16th place

100-Yard Freestyle: Claire Bass, 4th place; Amanda Andrews, 5th place

500-Yard Freestyle: CeCe Werth, 3rd place; Julia Brinson, 9th place

200-Yard Freestyle Relay: Julia Brinson, Victoria Godso, Cameron Accardo and Anna Webre, 4th place

100-Yard Backstroke: Kirby Black, 7th place; Cameron Accardo, 16th place

100-Yard Breaststroke: Gabrielle Joffrion, 10th place

400-Yard Freestyle Relay: Julia Brinson, CeCe Werth, Anna Webre and Amanda Andrews, 3rd place
