St. Joseph’s Academy and Catholic High School presented A Candlelight Christmas on December 7 at the LSU Union Theater. The Christmas Concert featured the Wind Ensemble and Schola Cantorum as well as interpretive dance by the CHS Bruinettes.
Senior Kate Stanford was among the featured vocalists. “The energy during Friday night’s performance was joyous and invigorating,” she said. “I felt that the choir was satisfied and excited with the performances and repertoire. I could not have asked for anything more as my last concert as a senior in choir. SJA/CHS choir has shaped my character, and I will never forget the high school performances which I had the privilege to perform in.”
Senior Madeline Ballew is the senior clarinet section leader for the band. “We see the concert as a definite success,” she said. “In conjunction with the choir, we were able to put on a prayerful performance that not only demonstrated the abilities of the students, but was a reminder of what Christmas is all about. We all have an absolute blast learning all of the music, and getting to present all of our hard work in such a professional and elegant setting means a lot to us. We look forward to this concert every year, and it’s always a great time for everyone involved.”
