Thirteen St. Joseph’s Academy students were among the 55 high school students from across the state invited to present original research papers at the Louisiana Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS). The event was held January 18 and 19 in the Lod Cook Conference Center at LSU.
Symposium participants presented the results of their research in science, technology, engineering or mathematics before a panel of judges. JSHS is jointly sponsored by the United States Army Research Office, Office of Naval Research and the Air Force Office of Scientific Research in cooperation with leading research universities across the nation.
Chosen as oral presenters were Racheal Coates, Emma Durnin, Grace Granger, Madison Henderson, Anna Leyrer, Haley Marcotte, Eloise Nelson, Mary Stuckey and Danna Thompson. Stuckey and Marcotte were among the top 10 projects and qualified for the final round of judging.
Poster presenters were Jeanne Brierre, Sydney Lewis, Jillian Eskew and Anna Montanio. Brierre was recognized as one of the top two poster presenters.
