Monday’s theme was Celebrating Community. Students, faculty and staff gathered after school to make brown bag lunches, or Sticker Sacks, for distribution by St. Vincent de Paul through its Bags of Hope program.

The celebration continued on Tuesday with the theme Celebrating Students. Spirit day activities and praise-and-worship music took place outside of the Dining Hall, and adoration was held in the Chapel during lunch hours.

On Wednesday, with the theme Celebrating the Nation, students and faculty gathered before school in the Chapel to pray a special rosary for our nation and its leaders. Several SJA students accompanied Principal Stacia Andricain, SJA Campus Minister Alise Alexander and Assistant Campus Minister Mary Kay Alford to Our Lady of Mercy Church to participate in the celebration of the annual Catholic Schools Week mass.

On Thursday, with the theme of Celebrating Vocations, students enjoyed lunch with the Sisters of St. Joseph both on campus and at their residence on Hundred Oaks.

The week concluded on Friday with Celebrating Faculty and Staff. SJA students attended Adoration in the Chapel during their lunch hours and wrote prayers for our faculty and staff. Students in Mrs. Dana Murray’s theology classes also wrote letters to send to their former elementary and middle school teachers to share their appreciation and love.

Several faculty and staff are celebrating milestone years of service to Catholic education this year. Celebrating 45 years is Jan Breen. Celebrating 40 years is Rebecca Stagg. Marking 35 years are Kathie Hayden and Nan Murtagh, and marking 25 years are Jill Abadie, Brenda LeBlanc and Angelle Saia.
