“The motivation and dedication by these students and all of the students who participated in the science fair was inspiring,” said science teacher and Science Fair coordinator Linda Messina. “Many of these girls started their projects in June and are still working on their research. I am so very proud of them. This year, some of the young ladies were given the opportunity to judge the middle school regional fair, and I received many compliments from LSU on their professionalism and ability. I would like to thank Dr. Kevin Grobman, Dr. Ed Bush, Gayle Kirwan and Aimee Phebus for all of their help and expertise. I would also like to thank all of the parents and mentors, as this would not be possible without their help and support.”

Science teacher Aimee Phebus was equally complimentary of the girls’ efforts. “The science department is so proud of the girls and their achievements in science fair this year,” she said. “We can’t wait to cheer them on in future competitions like the state science fair, ISEF and ISWEEEP.”
